“Adam Roberts... and his ensemble deserve full credit for the energetic and uplifting performance [of Jason Robert Brown’s score]. The music brings this show and its cry from the heart insistently alive.”

- David Glen Robinson, Review of Parade at Ground Floor Theatre

“Having the incredible Adam Roberts… was paramount to our success. I said early on that if he couldn't be the musical director for this show, then I wouldn't do it. The ease and power of the singers… are almost completely owed to him."

“Adam pays attention not only to getting it correct..., but also to defining choices by what is happening dramaturgically in the score... He knows the full value of a strong singing actor who has the ability to convey the emotional life intended by how a song is structured.”

For the New York Public Library’s NEA-funded Musical of the Month series, Adam’s musical direction led to recordings from the earliest days of American musicals.

The Libretto app, funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities and curated by the New York Public Library, features Adam’s musical direction for the first known recordings of The Black Crook.

As Resident Musical Director for Education at the Long Center for the Performing Arts, Adam is Musical Director and conductor of the Greater Austin High School Musical Theatre Awards.

A recipient of Austin’s B. Iden Payne Award for Outstanding Music Direction, Adam has held positions as musical director, vocal coach and conductor for productions featuring Broadway styles of all eras: Golden Age standards to rock,  Gilbert and Sullivan to jukebox pop.
